Formula One: Special Report- Peeping into the Brazilian Grand Prix 2009 (Part 2)
The second place on the podium last year at the Brazilian Grand Prix was occupied by Robert Kubica, teamed up with BMW Sauber for the season. He was seen brilliant on the track as he made his way to the podium after starting the race from 8th
place on the grid, marking his best finish of the season. Although he is not expected to be seen on the podium this season yet, he has done a pretty good job since the stat of the year. he stands as the only driver who had been able to challenge the top three
teams, Red Bull, Ferrari  and McLaren a couple of times this season. He currently stands at 7th place in the charts with his 124 points.
Another man who is very optimistic for the upcoming race now is Lewis Hamilton of McLaren. The British driver ended last year’s race at third place on the podium, while a year back in 2008, his championship was decided on the Interlagos Circuit. Presently
he stands at third place in the Drivers’ Championship with his 210 points. Even if the difference of 21 points from the charts’ topper, Fernando Alonso is not an impossible target, yet it is a tough one. The McLaren car is the third fastest of the season and
the driver has announced this several times earlier as well. Moreover, the other top two drivers, Webber and Alonso both not only have better cars but also are in a great competitive form.   The real threat for the McLaren driver at the moment is Alonso, who
leads the charts with his 231 points.
The last round of the Ferrari driver, Alonso in Brazil was not a good one as he retired at the first lap owing to a poor accident right. In fact, the Spaniard faced a long struggling 2009 season with Renault last year, as his car was not a very competitive
one and he was unable to match the pace of the other leading teams. Moreover, the season was packed at 9th place by the driver, yet he was lucky enough to get a place in Ferrari at the start of the 2010 season.
After seeing a lulled mid- season the team Italian team, Ferrari came back with a bang and then there was no stopping to the driver. Alonso has had four race wins in the last seven races and has ended on the podium in all except one round. Now, as the driver
enters the next round of the season he is pretty confident for the chances of bagging the third championship of his Formula One career.
The fourth place of the last years’ Brazilian round was taken by the Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel. As Button took command of the tally right at the start of the season, Vettel struggled hard to fight back to get hold of the championship but all in vain.
Despite his 4th place finish and Button’s 5th, the latter was a certain champion of the season, even before the last race.
On the other hand, this year Vettel stands at a place far safer then Button’s. With his 206 points, Vettel holds 4th place in the charts and stands 25 points adrift the top place in the charts.
However, this season is nothing like the last one. Or even nothing like the seasons witnessed in decades.  With only two more races to go and just 50 points to play for, the championship still remains uncertain. Even though the chances of Button, the last
year’s champion now seem pretty low yet, the tug remains quite tight between the other four top drivers.
Well, three more days to go and a thrilling and sizzling round would be served on the Brazilian soil.
