Formula One: The Team Red Bull under serious predicament post Korean Grand Prix
The Korean Grand Prix at the Yeongam racing circuit in South Korea was not at all a lucky venue for the Red Bull Formula 1 racing team. Despite of starting the race from the first two places on the grid, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel failed to finish
their races and endured a thrashing loss of ample crucial points in the (about to finish) ongoing Formula 1 season.
Vettel and Button failed to score a point in Korea and hence the Korean circuit came out to be not a favourite racing circuit for most of the Formula 1 racers. Now it seems like the championship is between two veteran arch rivals, Webber and Fernando Alonso,
whereas the Briton Lewis Hamilton is still not out of the championship contest as well. However, Hamilton’s McLaren has not fully supported his driving skills and that is why critics are focusing less over Hamilton for this year’s world championship title
win.
According to the racing critics, the season’s end is going to be very crucial for the Red Bull team as it has to maintain the lead and the leadership of Mark Webber has already been snatched by the Spanish veteran racer Fernando Alonso. It is to be remembered
that Webber had maintained the championship lead pretty tremendously throughout the season but very recently, he has started to slow down.
The fact is not to be ignored that Fernando Alonso has been racing outrageously well and has showed his class like never before. Winning the very recent race in Korea has given him a new boost for the last two races.
The real test for Webber and his team mate Vettel has just begun. Webber has improved his technique and has done remarkably well so far but to win his first Formula 1 championship title of the year it is now mandatory for Webber to win the next race.
According to the critics, the German driver of the Red Bull team Sebastian Vettel has been a better performer than the thirty four years old Australian veteran Mark Webber. It is to be noticed that Vettel had ruled the standings table to the mid season but
endured hard luck at Spa and in Hungarian Grand Prix.
In a very recent interview, the Red Bull team boss Horner expressed his views in a relaxed way and told the media that the Korean Grand Prix has definitely changed the scenery of the points table. While talking about the technical faults of the Red Bull
car during the race, Horner said that this year the front tire of the car of Sebastian Vettel is less powerful as compared to the tires he was using last year. He added that the current front tires get very edgy and jumpy over the bends while racing and that
is why Sebastian Vettel has not been able to deliver the results which he deserves.
While talking about Mark Webber’s performance, the Red Bull team manager said that Mark has been great throughout the season but he was very unfortunate in the Korean Grand Prix as he was unable to finish the race. Horner added that he is pretty sure that
Mark will try to re-capture his lost position in the championship as the team Red Bull is expecting a lot from the thirty four years old.
The real test for Mark Webber has just begun. It is now up to the Australian to give his best in the next race to shorten the lead of the current top position holder Fernando Alonso. On the other hand, the team Red Bull is now fully relying over Webber for
the championship trophy.
Currently Webber is eleven points adrift of Fernando Alonso. Will he be able to usurp the lead back from Fernando or not. Only the time will tell.
