Formula One: Vettel making too many errors says McLaren’s Button, Martin Whitmarsh names Sebastian Vettel "Crash kid"
Formula One racing needs sheer dedication and control as it is the world's fastest racing format. These days’ different Formula One drivers are criticizing Sebastian Vettel over his way of driving and racing.
The very recent tour of Belgian Grand Prix was not considered as a good event for the German veteran racer, as he was unable to keep his car in his control. It is to be remembered that in his recent race at the Spa in Belgium, Vettel smashed his car into Jenson Button's car during the race, which brought a strong blow to the plans of both the rivals.
Vettel's driving skills are being questioned, as the incident of him losing control of his car and crashing it into another car was not the first case. He has already done that before. It is also to be remembered that the German thrashed his car into his Australian team mate Mark Webber's car at Turkey Grand Prix, which caused some serious frustration in the Red Bull team's den. Now critics are of the view that the German ace racer Vettel should focus more over his perfection and handling than on over the speed. His capabilities cannot be questioned, as he has already proved himself pretty well and has successfully dragged his name in the list of top ranked racers of the world.
In a very recent interview veteran driver, Jenson Button expressed his views about the incident of collision in the Belgian race pretty bluntly. According to Button, Vettel should work over his techniques and positive points rather than going for the speed over the track. Button said that Vettel is very quick on the racing track but he has made too many errors that it is going to be difficult for him to strongly prove himself as a contender for the world champion Formula One driver.
Later Button admired the talent of Vettel and said that Vettel's remarkable talent and passion for racing cannot be ignored, as he has all the required skills to grab the world champion title but the way he lost points can cause a bigger problem for him in acquiring his desired glory. Vettel has achieved seven poles in his last thirteen matches, which is definitely a strong proof of his matchless skills. While talking about these facts, Vettel's rival Button expressed his views and said that landing seven poles in thirteen races is no doubt a proof of exceptional performance but he gains the points with a perfect performance and then throws them by making unprecedented errors which is certainly not a good sign of consistency at all.
Perfection and handling of the car has always been a problem with the young 23 year old German racer Sebastian Vettel. His dangerous manoeuvre on the 16th lap of the race at Spa suffered him a drive through penalty as well. Later after the race, Vettel was also strongly criticized by the media over his aggressive approach. McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh named Sebastian Vettel "Crash kid" after the incident.
Now the racers will battle for the world championship title and Red Bull team's hopes are residing with their Australian ace racer Mark Webber. Most of the rivals are of the view that Sebastian Vettel will not be able to clutch the world champion title.
Sebastian Vettel is now 31 points behind the leading point’s holder Lewis Hamilton but shortening the gap of points will be a very hard task. At one hand when the difference of 31 points is not less than a dream to chase for Vettel but on the other side the collision at Spa has also brought serious frustration for the Jenson Button. Currently Button is 35 points behind the leader Hamilton. While talking about his current position at the points table, Button expressed himself pretty confidently by saying that at first, he was feeling very tensed and uneasy but now he is ready to give his best. Jenson is now looking forward for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, which will be held at Monza from the 12th of September.
