Formula One: Would a German Be Able To Bag a Victory At Home Race
Finally, the day has arrived when the Formula One World Championship returns to Hockenheim after having a gap of a year. The Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship is firmly balanced and ready to give another nail biting round of the season. The season has finally reached its climax with ten races already gone, nine more yet to come, the top four forerunner drivers stand separated with only twenty four points, whereas the top two teams, McLaren and Red Bull has a difference of only twenty nine points in the Constructor’s Standings.
As the teams and drivers head for the next destination of the season, the German drivers are more than excited to have race in front of their home crowd. The feeling is more than joy, as expressed by many of them it is rather an amalgam of confusion and excitement as all the German racers want to perform their best.
So far, all the German drivers who have ever raced with Formula One had been able to score a total of one hundred and ten victories and the fans hope to see the tally rise this season furthermore, as several German racers are heading for their home race.
In the total score, the biggest share has been added by the seven times Formula One Champion and the most successful racer of all times, Michael Schumacher, who had always been taken as the biggest pride for German race fans. Schumacher had been successful in bagging ninety one Grand Prix wins during his career, whereas the other German who follows him is Sebastian Vettel, as he had been able to grab a total of seven race wins so far. This season most of the Germans have high hopes from Vettel, who is in best form among the German drivers of the season.
Some other German racers going for their home race this weekend are Nico Rosberg another Mercedes driver, Adrian Sutil of Force India, Nico Hulkenberg racing with Williams and the Virgin Team’s driver, Timo Glock.
As the racers get ready for their practice session on Friday morning, Vettel expressed his feelings to the media saying that he does not feel any pressure for the fact that he would be racing at his home track rather he told that he is feeling excited and motivated. He said that he thinks he could squeeze extra energy from him owing to the high spirit with which he is entering the race.
Vettel had already been able to bag two victories so far in the season and stands at fourth place in the drivers’ Championship one place behind his team mate. All through the season, he had offered some great racing and is one of the four strongest contenders of the season. As the Red Bull teams now head for the German Grand Prix, they had already announced some more up gradations in their already fastest car of the season.
For Mercedes GP, the race is more important than any other in the season, as it is a home race for both its drivers. Schumacher would be running first race in his home town, after a gap of three years. Since he had not been able to perform very good all through the season, it is hoped that he would be able to get back to his actual form in his hometown amidst all the support and love that he had always been able to magnetize here.
Schumacher said that it does not matter how long one has been racing around, the feeling to race in the home town is always great and he fells immensely excited now. Similarly, Nico Rosberg said that he hopes to give the best finish of the season.
Well, only one more day to go and action would unfold at the tracks of Germany, unveiling the performance of all the German drivers.
