Formula Sochi aim to play an active part in Sochi circuit construction – Formula 1 news
Formula Sochi chief executive officer, Alexander Bogdanov has said that they will take an active part in the construction of the autodrome in Sochi, Russia to host the Russian Grand Prix in the near future.
Bogdanov said that they are eagerly looking forward to complete the construction of the new racing track in Sochi so as to host the events of autosport including FIA GT World Series, FIA WEC, WTCC, Formula 3, and Russian national championships.
Besides, he said that the track which is 5854 meter long in one of the longest circuits in the F1 championship. Moreover, he said that they will also host motorcycle events like MotoGP and World Superbike.
“The construction of the racing track in Sochi is going into high gear. The 5854 m long circuit is one of the longest in the F1 World Championship. The autodrome will also host different racing series such as FIA GT World Series, FIA WEC, WTCC, Formula 3,
and Russian national championships. We are working through possibility of hosting motorcycle racing of highest level: Moto GP, World Superbike, and others,” Bogdanov said.
In addition, he said that there are many engineers and labours who are currently working on the construction of the circuit. He also said that they are targeting to make the best quality race track for the future of the sport.
Furthermore, he said that they will also improve their relationship with the international promoters of the race in order to make the race in Russia interesting for the fans.
Additionally, he said that he is immensely thankful to the CEO of F1, Bernie Ecclestone who has supported them throughout the plan and its implementation.
“Close coordination with group of F1 companies headed by Bernie Ecclestone gives us a confidence that the Russian Grand Prix will be organized on time and at a high level,” he added.
Ecclestone has recently said that he has a lot of ideas to implement in the near future on which he is working right now. It will be exciting to see which new destinations he brings in the F1 calendar in the future.
