My daughter is 8 weeks old. Since she has been born we have had her on similac iron, sensitive, alimentum, soy and just today we put her on Nutramigen. Since I put her on the Nurtamigen, she has been hysterical crying frantically. She has burped numerous times spitting up formula each time and farting like crazy. I was wondering if any mothers out there have their babies or had their babies on Nutramigen and if these symptoms occured? Im thinking it may just be all the gas that was backed up in her that she couldnt get out with the other formulas, and this stuff is making it come up in order to get her better. Could that be it? Is this the normal reaction from this formula? PLease help, she is hysterical as im typing and I dont know what else to do.....

  1. if she didn't do this with the other formula and you just changed it today and now all this...

I have not used this formula with my kids but if she is hysterical and that uncomfortable I would take my baby to the ER...

I really do hope all is well...

  2. this is because she can not stomach this formula. my son was this way with his other formulas and we tried three different kinds until we know us the similac isomil advance the red can plus he gets cereal in his bottle doctors orders to help keep it down.sometimes just switching brand names instead of formula types is all it takes.

  3. sweetie don't be alarmed she probably have serious gas. What u can do is find a formula that would help her stop spitting back up the milk I think the same similac have that spiting up milk and also u should get some gripe water. Its a liquid that ease the gas bubbles in their stomach and also u should not change formula so sudden at such a young age.Don't forget she's 8 weeks an her tiny stomach is trying to adjust to the milk u feed her that is why she vomits u changed it.Take your time with her and try it an also u could take her an let her sleep on your stomach you kno let her stomach touch your stomach. The older people say the baby's gas would pass to u,it wouldn't hurt to try it.good luck sweetie.

  4. I didn't use nutramigen with my daughter, but it could be just a reaction to a new formula. It does sound like gas and maybe using some gas drops might help her from being so hysterical. My daughter had formula issues as well and we lived off of gas drops for the first six months. They can have as much as they want because it doesn't absorb into the bloodstream. I hope it gets better! Good luck!

  5. i know they put my friends son efmail ar it work very good. i would talk to you dr.

  6. did you try giving her mylicon drops or some little tummy's gas drops. i think the little tummy's work better, but i would definitely try that if you haven't, it works wonders some times. you can give her the it to the first line. good luck to you, if that doesn't help then call the nurse and see what you can do, you don't want to switch formulas to much, that would definitely cause a gassy and uncomfortable belly.

  7. she is having problems with that formula but if she is only 8 wks old and you already tried 5 different formulas you probably havent given her enough time to really try them out

    call her ped.
