Forrest Griffin calls Phil Davis ‘a guy in pink tights’ – UFC News
American mixed martial artist Forrest Griffin is scheduled to face Phil Davis at UFC 155, which is scheduled for December 29 at the MGM Grand in Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Griffin, he does not want to be beaten by a fighter in pink tights.
“The thing about Phil Davis is I really don't wanna get beat up by a guy in pink tights,” said Davis as reported by MMA Mania. “He's long, he's quick, obviously a great shot, great wrestling, great anaconda choke.”
It sounds like Griffin is well of the threat Davis possess but he is not willing to give up the game to him. Probably, Griffin is not in the mood to be beaten by a man in pink tights by any means.
“I have that to look forward to. What he does is a good job of beating you up from the top, frustrating you, until you come up into him kinda in bad form and that's when he looks for that anaconda,” he added.
Griffin a former light heavyweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and he definitely stands as one of the best fighters out there. However, it seems like Griffin’s time is over and now better fighters are thee to replace him. He will be fighting
against Davis for the Dos Santos vs. Velasquez pay-per-view event.
Griffin is once again looking forward to establish his dominance in the division, regardless of the fact that many think he has lost his stint.
Griffin is coming off a close unanimous decision victory over Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, which was held at UFC 148. Griffin was widely criticised for his performance, many stating that the former champion is a write-off now. Similarly, he was also criticised
for his TRT exemption.
To many, Griffin today stands as a fossil of his earlier self. While most fans hope the former champion to return back to his form, some are actually sure that it can never happen. Probably, this is Griffin’s last chance to prove himself in the ring against
a mightier force or else he would be washed out for good.
