I have had this satellite receiver working sinc 10/2/06. It has been working ok until recently.

It has a problem that causes the picture and sound to be ok and then seems to have no signal. This on/off ation occurs in about a 2 second sequence for as long as I have the receiver on. The signal level is about 85 and the quality is between 72 and 83. I had the installer check the system out and he reassured me that all was ok on the dish and he isolated the problem to the receiver itself. I beleive his conclusion is valid.

I opened up the receiver and gave it a visual check for any obvious damage. I found that the smaller PC board identified as GRP-GL0242C has a burned out resistor (R24). The resistor shows signs of overheating and the PC board itself has a darkened area around R24 due to the overheating.

I have concluded that this may be the cause of failure, however there may be other associated parts that have also failed or degraded. The rsistor is so badly burned that I cannot read the color code. If I could, I would find a replacemant and install it. I do not have access to a schematic to find the value.

Can you help me with this problem and possibly identify the value of R24, so I could get a new one and see if this would solve my problem.

I appreciate any help you can supply.
