For all of you questioning the fortin's origin, they came

to quebec in early 1600 with champlain, they later in 1850,s settled in St-joachim-de-Montmorency quebec

where they multiplied, I and a product of a scotsman who came to quebec and married euphemie fortin in 1853. I have accumulated a lot of information of the fortin/Brown family up to present! I may be of help, I am located in canada.
