Forty Yard Dash Help

I ran a 5.3 today on my 40, but people were telling me I "veered" at an angle for the last 10-15 yards of my 40. How much can that have affected my 40 time? I was dissapoined too because before that I ran a 4.95 on a football field. Also, we ran our forties in a indoor basketball court if that means anything.

  1. A straight line of course is the fast way to the finish line.

Running indoors you will not have any wind aided time as opposed to running outdoors.

Alot also depends on you foot gear

  2. u could of been 2-3 mili secs earlier if u didnt angle

    grass hurts ur feet less

  3. running on grass is a ton easier... I agree with the other posts.. but the bottom line is that when is comes to speed you have to have endurance as well... you should at least 15 sprints a day so that you can establish consistency and run that 4.95 every time and not be slowed down by anything else..
