Forward Power or Silky Backs - What would you prefer in your World Cup squad?

Fact is..with out good forwards a team can not recycle the ball,ruck,mall,turn over.they would lose the ball every time the the ball went to ground.

Running backs are a sight to behold none better than the french when they are in full flight (matter of opinion i guess).

To answer this question I think there has to be an even distribution of both 'silky backs and forward power'

the more the game folws the better..

If you want to win, then there is absolutely no argument... it MUST be the Forwards.  ANYONE that would argue that a team with weak forwards and great backs would beat a team with great forwards and weak backs is delusional.

Well, I would say Silky backs, because Other teams wouldnt expect it. Im from Argentina.

Or Forward Power, because there are 8 forwards and 7 backs, so better forwards provides a mathematical advantage.

A combination of both.  Each compliments the other, the game is won through the forwards and good ball is then delivered to the backs.  That's why a very good team needs a strong froward pack to get good field position and an back line to take advantage of this.

You need a combination of both IMO...................unless you're England, then you can get away with it by playing 10 man rugby. (Yes, I'm still bitter & twisted over 2003 lol)

Hey Hawkeye74, I seem to remember we beat you lot a few weeks back with a sub standard set of forwards (NZ's opinion anyway) LOL

has to be forwards as they win you the game and the backs just decide by how much
