Fossil Fuels: Question about pollution?

What kind of pollution does the burning of fossil fuels emit? Is it just carbon dioxide, or is it methane/other pollutions?

  1. It is only carbon dioxide and I believe carbon monoxide. Methane is only produced by decomposition of natural materials, the source of that is mainly in agriculture and melting permafrosts. I hope this helps :)


  2. Coal is very polluting and natural gas much less so. Burning wood  also causes pollution. See  for coal
