Fossil Question. I have a The giant Paradoxidae Trilobite . How can I get it authenticated ?

I bought it from a Fossil dealer many years ago. It's as big as a dinner plate.

Go to a museum or a University's Evolution and Paleotology

department and they'll do some radiocarbon dating or other

methods to determine if it is real or not.

It's way beyond the span of radiocarbon dating.   Authenication could not be simpler, however.

If it is made of rock it is genuine.  But if it is made of plaster it is a replica .. still interesting yet nowhere near as valuable.  Whatever you paid for it is a likely indication also.  A trilobite as big as a dinner plate would be quite valuable.
