Foster care profession? HELP!?

Question

I am a writing a script about a teenager who lives in a foster home. She has a social worker but I'm not sure if that's the right term for the person that visits her now and then to make sure everything is okay and her foster parents are treating her properly. I thought I heard of another profession that is responsible for visiting foster children. Can someone help me out?

I've heard them called social workers and case workers or managers.
