  1. It took 2 years 8 months from first class to placement. Approved for a girl aged between 2-6, was placed with 5 year old. No regrets :)

  2. From the day of my first class to the day I brought my baby home he was 5 weeks old was 11 months and then I fostered him and then adopted him at the age of 15 months

  3. Ours was a little different, we had the baby, then the class, but it was 39 months before the adoption was final.

  4. it took 13 months from start to finish. We brought home a 1 year old. We were not age or race or gender specific.

  5. We contacted the intake office in Sept 07, started classes Oct 07 (every Sat for 4 weeks), during this time we were having the home study done and it was all completed by the end of Nov.

We were approved into the program Jan 08, had home health and safety inspection completed by the end of Jan and our formal license issued 18 Feb at 11 am, or at least thats when they called us to let us know it was all good to go.  3.5 hours later we received another call letting us know there was a 4 day old girl awaiting release from the hospital if we were interested.  We got as much info as was available at that time, made our decision and picked her up that night at 8.

Our decision to move forward with the adoption was made by the time the GPO was granted 2 weeks later.  Once the mandatory appeal period had passed and no appeal was launched, the adoption was completed around the time she turned 4 months old.  She's 5 months old....today actually.

All tolled, from initial application to having her home was 5 months.
