  1. as a foster child myself ive never been returned to my parents so maybe with some luck u will gt to keep your grandchild. if your grandchild stays till she is old enough to understand then remember it will probably hurt her more than it will hurt you.

  2. Pamela, friends of mine had custody of their granddaughter for almost the entire first 3 years of this little angel's life. Mom was a crackhead and alcoholic with very little to no positive parenting habits.  Child was cared for by grandparents in their early 50's. Uncertain as to where you live but we live in Ontario Canada and after these three years the mom went back to court to regain custody of this little girl.  Well after she pleased the courts by passing urine tests for 6 months and taking an anger management course the little girl was returned to her natural mother.  This obviously broke my friends hearts but they did receive grandparents rights for visitation. Sadly though we all know it is just a little bit of time before history will repeat itself and the mother will once again be turning tricks and using.  Hopefully you end up with a better ending.  Best of luck.

  3. We did it for some time - a very hard road.  I wish you all the best.
