Fostering question?

Question

I've always really wanted to foster but always thought I would be married and have bought my own home before I began. But I have been thinking about it more and more and was wondering about the pros and cons if I would foster 1 (or maybe 2) children in my apartment while I was single. I am a teacher and would foster school age children so daycare wouldn't be necessary. I just feel that I shouldn't wait several years when I am able to foster now and there are children that need it.

Should I wait or begin now?

Do they let single women in apartments foster?  I am not sure what requirements you have to meet to be a foster parent.
