Stupid question but do you call it the foul pole or fair pole? Why?

the foul line is in fair territory too.. Its telling you thats the end of the fair after the pole. meaning, the line and pole are both fair.

Foul pole, because it's been called that for as long as I can remember. I've never heard anyone call it the fair pole.

It's called the foul pole, even though it's a fair ball if the ball hits it. The pole is in fair territory, but it marks where foul territory begins, giving it the name foul pole
