Found a Concrete Rectangle in the woods? like coffin shaped? what is it?

it looks like a coffin ... like 3 ft. high its a rectangle ... theres nothing inside it... just like leaves and dirt ... there is a pipe-looking thingy in it ... any ideas?

How about an old perk site. Maybe a well.  If there is a pipe in it I am sure its not a coffin.

it's a septic tank.

have there been old coal mine or mines like that in the area.

if so it may be a vent pipe.

the concrete box is to keep flood water from going down it.

if that is what they are they date from before 1940.
