Found a jar of coffee....?

and the best before end is jan 2008,would it still be ok to use or should I chuck?

drink some of it - if you get really ill then you should chuck it out, if you don't then drink some more. repeat until its finished or you have chucked it out.

well I don't think you can get sick off it if it's not expired but, it may taste stale, so I would just make a pot & see how it tastes

If the seal isnt broken it should be fine. Give it a smell and try it out. Im a college student so I never have a jar of coffee for that long!

As long as it isn't hard, try it.  It can't hurt you.

Best before means it is still ok but maybe not at its best quality.

Use by is when you should not eat stuff past that date at all

Yeah fine. Coffee won't go out of date for a long while. As long as you keep the lid on and no moisture gets in.

best before means it'll be at it's best taste not out of date. We lwarnt that in HE had it drummed into our heads lol only when it says out of code date etc then its no good

haven't you seen the headlines lately about people throwing out perfectly good food....i recently raided my bin for some tartar sauce which the wife had thrown out and i was wanting it for my fish!!!

It will be fine if its sealed.

You may find that you get brown bits floating on the top of the coffee cup, but it needs more stirring.

If its already open, you probably won't be able to get it out the jar.
