He's going to the vet on friday. But he's very skinny. I can't get him to eat anything but raw meat.

Right now, all I have frozen (no money) is some chicken, chuck roast, hamburger, and some pork product.

Which would be the best to give him?

Aslo, the area is very high traffic, is there a way I can braek him of going outside?

  1. Boil him some chicken with no salt added-and do not give him the bones.  He will eat it.  You can help him stay inside by providing him a clean cat box and a comfy place to sleep.

  2. feed him all of it, he will love it all.

i dont agree with raw feeding however. cats are domesticated, raw meat sends them back to wild instincts. cook it first.

if you start mixing it in with a little canned food, he will adjust to the canned food.

  3. Chicken is good for cats. I would ask your vet about what to feed him permanently, but I know a chicken and rice mixture is good for cats with stomach issues (if it's cooked).

There are boundary sprays you can get at any pet store that will deter cats from coming near a certain area. There are also motion sensors that will make a sound when they come near it, training them to avoid the area.

Also, you should make the indoor environment as stimulating as possible, so he doesn't get bored and want to go outside. Cat toys, cat trees, scratching posts, and plenty of play time are key for helping a cat adjust to indoor life.

    Hope this helps :)

  4. He may have parasites or just not good at scrounging food. If he only wants raw food he's used to catching his own. Some pet stores actually sell "natural" cat food that's been frozen.

Chicken is nourishing and most cats like it just fine. Eventually start mixing in the food you want him to eat, little by little.

Have him neutered. That will help to decrease his desire to wander and fight.
