Its an non neutered male. all black, short hair. His tail is completely missing, and there is NO nub at all... just a scab but its not red/infected. His face is very pretty, but a little different somehow from our other cats. Im wondering if this is a certain breed? Im putting up found posters tomorrow, but im thinking that its tail might have been removed by a vet since its not infected and it looks to have been a clean cut. Sometimes breeds of dogs have their tails cut at a young age just because thats how the breed "is supposed to look". He is very friendly, and i think is around 1yr old. ANY ideas?? btw, we cant keep him we are trying to find him a good home, we already have too many adopted animals :)

  1. Well first make sure he doesn't have rabies, then do what u r doing putting up posters with is picture on it telling the description and color and name (if it has a name tag, which it probably doesn't) lol..and then see a vet and maybe get some shots for him so he will be ready for his new home and to make sure nothing is wrong with him..and if nobody wants him or claims him, simply give it to a nearby caring animal shelter or a vet's office because usually they have kittens for sale in there. But give him water and food, and lots of love and care! :) Hope this helps!

  2. put up an ad in the pennysaver. you can go online at the pennysaver website and put in an ad under the pets section. they might charge a little fee, because the only free ads are for items under like 150 bucks, but not for animals. definitely put up posters in a variety of places around your home. I would keep it for about two or three weeks while you wait for the owner to see the poster, and in the meantime put the ad in the pennysaver or your local newspaper. Its a shame you arent able to keep it. I am sure you have thought about it, but if there is anyway you could comfortably keep him than thats what i would do. If you already have enough animals than go ahead with plan A.

It sounds like it has an owner that is missing their little buddy, due to the fact that he was taken to the vet most likely to get the tail removed. The tail most likely was injured or broken somehow and the vet thought the best remedy was to just remove it and end any pain he was in.

Anyhow good luck, you are doing the right thing :)

  3. i would go to a vet. he might have a micro chip.

i find it hard to believe anyone would pay for a tail bob, but not neuter. maybe a show cat?

  4. how is it illegal to keep a pigeon? its not we r taking care of it

  5. Take it to an animal shelter.

  6. Definitely take him to a vet to see if he's microchipped.  Also, call a local shelter to see if anyone has put their name in about a missing cat.  Found ad's are usually free in the newspaper - so you could put a found ad in.  Area veterinarians also may have received calls if a cat is missing.

Good luck.  It is very nice that you took him in.

  7. I think he is a blank manx http://www.best-cat-tips.com/images/manx... if it looks any thing like the cat in that picture it is...
