Question:

Found a way to Shea Stadium?

So, a few days ago, I posted a question asking what the best way on gettin to Shea Stadium from South Jersey was. I took what everyone said and researched on my own as well. What we are going to do is take a train from 30th Street Station in Philly to Penn Station in NYC. We will walk the few blocks to Times Square/Broadway then from there we are going to take the 7 subway right into Shea. Is this a "smart" idea, knowing that we are from Philly and will be wearing Phillies gear!

  1. Put it this way, I would think you are better off wearing Phillies jerseys in New York, than you would be wearing Mets' jerseys in Philadelphia.

...and, from Penn Station take the Long Island RR to Shea Stadium. Take the Port Washington line, and get off at Shea Stadium (2nd stop).

This is for the day game on Thursday that you're going to, correct???

    That's a 12:10 start.

  2. Walking around Midtown you are prime for some verbal harassment, but nobody is going to harm you.  That is a very vibrant part of town and usually busy, and there is safety in numbers.  I would recommend walking up and down either along Seventh Avenue or Broadway.  Either way, it is only a ten minute walk.  You also could get on the subway at Penn station and go one stop North (Uptown) on the #1 or #2 train and then transfer(free) to the #7.  If you need more detail, email me.
