Question:

Found dead tiny caterpillar/worms in the folded towel.What are they? How do I get rid of them besides washing?

I noticed when I dont use a certain towel I will discover these dead tiny light tan caterpillar/worms in the folded towel. Someone told me that it caused by humidity. Also found them on new towels too. Doesnt matter where I stored them either.

Please help.

  1. are you drying your towels thoroughly? If you put them away damp this may happen. I would definitely wash them again and make sure they are completely dry before storing.

    I also would take everything out of the closet or area where they are stored and wipe down with clorox to rid of any mold or humidity. Let the area dry out good befoe returning linen.


  2. It could be that you have an infestation in your house. Get someone to come and do a check with a local pesticide company.

    Lay your towels on clean paper.

    Make sure your towels are dried completely

    Dry in the sun

I know exactly what you are talking about!  I don't think it's from damp towels or an infestation in your house.  I have found them on the bathroom floor before.  I also found a dead one the other day on my canister in the kitchen.  I don't believe my house is infested.  I have a pretty clean house and the only time I ever find them is in the summer.  Maybe it has something to do with humidity?
