Anyone know of a website where you can verify dinosaur findings. I live in a very small town in Ohio and supposedly there was a pretty good finding about 15 years ago but I can't find any evidence of it. thanks alot. :)

  1. So you have a fossil, bones don't count.  That's because since the dinosaurs became extinct, any remaining bones would have turned to fossils by now.  The most renowned fossil to be found in Ohio is the Huffman Dam trilobite designated as the official state fossil in 1985.  Here is a website that describes that fossil.

Try this site to find out more about fossils.

I don't mean to dampen your spirits, but if it is a bone, it is not from a dinosaur.  If you believe you have a fossil, only a trained paleontologist can tell if it might actually be a fossil.  You'll have to go to the University of Ohio, or the State Geological Survey, to get that kind of advice.

    Good Luck
