Found two old model sailing boats in attic?

They say Clyde Model Dockyard, Argyll Arcade, Glasgow. They are about 70cm in length and look like they could actually be propelled by wind power. I'm was honestly thinking about throwing them. Are these type of things worth keeping?

  1. Durrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get em cleaned up and valued, you could be sat on a wee gold mine.

I'd be going through the c**p in the attic like a rat up a drainpipe looking for more gems.

  2. keep them ,they sound lovely. You could get them valued -search the net ot go into one of those shops that sell vintage toys.If you are throwing them out ,throw them in my direction !

  3. Hang on to them if they are in good condition and look old.  The most I could find out was that the Clyde Model Dockyard opened in 1789 and now the shopfront is in a museum.  It was a highly respected store which sold model trains and boats.  Try locating a model collectors club for advice or ask a reputable auction house (not an antique store). or worthpoint.com might help.

  4. ill give you 75 for the pair, of course ill be making some profit myself but at lease you dont have the hassle of going to auction of any of that c**p, ill send the money first so u have the security of already having the cash and ill have the security of knowing your adress if they dont arrive?

  5. you could get £50 - £150 for them if you took them to auction

  6. Ask Mitchel Library!
