Foundation troubles!!?

Question

Ok, can anyone help me with this? I use liquid foundation from Mary Kay. Problem is, it leaves my face with a dry and patchy appearance and I have no idea why. I want a smooth, clean and natural finish that will make my face look flawless. I always clean and moisturise my face before applying make-up (additional info). Is it the product I'm using, or is there some alternative technique to correct this problem?

Well, based of what you are saying, I would think the foundation you are using must be formulated for a oiler skin so it is absorbing the oils your skin is producing and drying you out.  You always want to moisturize your fast first and foundation primer help protect your skin.  You said you wanted a clean natural finish that looks flawless, so I would suggest a foundation formulated for normal to combination skin with a radiant finish.  I looked at Mary Kay web site you may want to try the full coverage which provides hydration.

I need more information what are you using for skin care is it Mary Kay or something else if you are mixing product that could be the problem or maybe your aren't using the right skin care or if you are using the wrong formula foundation not enough information to help you.

You have to start with a good exfoliation, this will eliminate dry dead skin on your face. Then use a moisturizer that will not leave your skin greasy (olay has some good ones).

I have been using Visibly Even (natural looking makeup) by Neutrogena

it actually does improve skin tone it contains Soy and spf 20.  Look for all this on the bottle.  I LOVE IT.  I use Golden Bisque 70.  You need to find your own color of course.  I switched to another Neutrogena makeup, but I had to go back.  When I tried the new makeup, my sister commented that my face did not look as fresh and vibrant as before.  I have since tried others but now I am back for good.  I Love this one. I also find that using the more gentle face wash is better.  I use Neutrogen Gentle Cleanser or Cetephil face wash in the morning  and Neutrogena Fresh Foaming cleanser at night (it removes makeup).  To moisturize I use Loreal revitalift complete with spf and Loreal advanced Revita night at night.  I have used Olay regenerist uv regenerating lotion spf15 day and Regenerist night at night.  The Loreal is good for my winter drier skin and Olay for Summer oilier skin.
