Four Winds Invitational proceeds will go to Memorial Children's Hospital, officials say

The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour and officials of Four Winds Casinos have said that money generated through the Four Winds Invitational will be donated to Memorial Children’s Hospital.
The Four Winds Invitational tournament going to be held from August 10 to 12, at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana.
The tournament is being played under the auspices of the LPGA and the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians that run Four Winds Casinos.
An event on the Symetra Tour, the Four Winds Invitations is expected to stage a tough battle among leading players, but analysts said that the decision to give the proceeds in charity has given it a considerable boost.
The tournament’s officials did not tell how much will go to Memorial Children’s Hospital, as they said it will be decided in August when the event has concluded.
Analysts said that it is not clear at the moment how much money the tournament will generate, but the proceeds are expected to be around or more than $50,000.
The tournament’s officials said that the Hospital has been in touch with them lately and players have also appreciated the step taken by the LPGA and Pokagon Band of Potawatomi.
Matt Harkness, General Manager of Four Winds Casinos said that the Hospital is best known for its contribution in health care services, which is why the company’s management felt the urge to help the people by giving funds.
He said the tournament is a good platform to help the people of South Bend. Memorial Children’s Hospital has been serving the localities of South Bend for a long time.
"Memorial Children's Hospital has been providing top-quality pediatric health care services to those most in need in the South Bend and surrounding communities for many years," Harkness said.
He added that the company’s officials and the LPGA Tour had been considering which sector should be chosen to donate funds to. He said Memorial Children’s Hospital was picked through consensus.
"We couldn't have found a more deserving beneficiary to receive proceeds from the inaugural Four Winds Invitational," Harkness said.
