Four girls + one bathroom = trouble?

Question

In my dorm, there will be four girls, including me, sharing one bathroom. Will it be difficult trying to get turns in the shower ?

Not if you plan. Maybe two of you can shower in the evening and two of you can shower in the morning. Also take a small mirror so that you can sit at your desk to do makeup in the morning. If people start to take excessively long showers then a timer can do wonders.

If everyone else wants to shower in  the morning, then you might volunteer to take at night or vice versa. It is all about give and take and compromise. Communication is key in this situation.

Or take an excersise type class in the morning so that you can shower after that class and hopefully will be wanting to get in the shower after everyone is gone to class or can shower at the locker rooms.

When I was in college there were eight of us to a bathroom, there were two showers, two sinks and two toilets.  We hardly ever had a problem, unless it was a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night and we were all trying to get ready to go out. The reason we didn't have a problem is because college is NOT like high school.  You won't all have classes first thing Monday morning at 8:00, your schedules will vary.  Also, you will realize quickly that some people literally roll out of bed, and run across campus to get to class.  I remember going to all my morning classes in the sweats I slept in, going back to my room, showering, and going to lunch in the dining hall clean and nice, to see and be seen.  

I was an Resident Assistant for three years and the issues in the girls' suites were NEVER about shower usage.  I was a Hall Director a few years later at my college, for three years, and this was never a problem.  I was a Hall Director at another college for three years, and this was never a problem.  So... will there be issues? Some, at the beginning, but they should resolve themselves pretty quickly.   Have fun, and good luck!

it depends. if there more girl then yes. most girls care about hygiene (brushing teeth, showers, cleaning ears ext.) very much.i guess it would be best to wake up earlier or just be patient or you guys could have a schedule.

It's a right of passage.  I lived it, you'll live it too.  Everyone who has been in a dorm has had a similar issue.  You'll find a way to coordinate, don't worry.  Get some Ozium, it's the best room spray, you'll be glad to have it.  This will be a great experience for you, don't sweat the small stuff.

yes. It would be wise to sit down with them and go over schedules to see who would go first then second and so on. Limit the bathroom time accordingly. Keep the schedule on the bathroom door as a reminder.
