Four ladies tie for victory at The Hero Honda Women’s Indian Open

The Hero Honda Women’s Indian Open took place in New Delhi this weekend. With the third and final round taking place today, four ladies have tied for win in the tournament. Louise Friberg, Laura Davies, Nontaya Srisawang and Tandi Cuningham tied for victory
this morning in India. All the ladies finished with an overall score of 213 and hence took this title.
Laura Davies did really well in the first round with her seven under lead but she slipped with a six over par during the second round. It was quite a surprise to see the 50 year old golfer win this one. Another golfer who made headlines was Tandi who played
really well during the second round.
Giving Davies a good battle, Cunningham posted 68. The pretty golfer from South Africa birdied her last hole and hence went into the final round leading the tournament.
As for today’s performance, The English golfer Davies posted a birdie and a bogey on the front nine and one birdie, one eagle and a bogey on the back nine. Her performance was sufficient to retract her disappointing performance yesterday and hoist her up
to tie with the other leaders. Davies posted a two under 70 in the final round.
Cuningham on the other had initiated the day on a bad note as she bogeyed the 2nd, 4th and sixth hole. Things started getting better on the back nine as she posted birdies on the thirteenth, fourteenth and eighteenth hole. All the other
holes, Tandi scored par and managed to finish the ay with a one over par 73.
Louis Frisberg, who also finished in first position, also carded a two under 70 in the final round. She posted a birdie on the fifth and the ninth hole. She only made one bogey on the fourteenth hole but overcame her slip by the birdie on the eighteenth
hole.
The golfer from Thailand, Srisawang really stole the show with the five birdies she posted during the final round. Nontaya birdied the third, ninth, tenth, fifteenth, and eighteenth hole.  None of the winners of the tournament had a bogey free round. Nontaya
bogeyed the first, fifth, thirteenth and seventeenth hole.
The Hero Honda Women’s Open was one of the last competitive tournaments of the Ladies European Tour. Next up on the Tour is the Pre-Q School for 2011 followed by the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters in December. The final tournament for this year will be the Final
Qualifying School 2011 in Spain from December 15-19.
