The Merseyside giants have had one of their most disappointing starts to a Premier League campaign this season, and are still struggling to get their form back. The appointment of Brendan Rodgers has also not brought the level
of success expected and the team is continuing to perform inconsistently.
It can be concluded from the side’s performances in the first-half of the season that apart from Luis Suarez, there has not been any player who has shown the ability to score goals on a consistent basis. It is evident from the
poor displays that the club needs to spend money in the upcoming January transfer window.
Bettor.com discusses five possible options the Merseyside club can explore:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076
Age: 23
Current club: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international has been widely linked with the Reds in the last few months and there is a huge possibility that the player will end up at Anfield. The striker has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge after the arrival
of Rafa Benitez and has reportedly been told to find a new club.
There are reports that Liverpool have made a £12 million bid for the attacker and the player will be arriving for a medical soon. The former Bolton Wanderers man can play both as a central striker and on the wings, and could be
a valuable signing for the struggling club.
Thomas Ince
Age: 20
Current club: Blackpool
The winger joined Blackpool from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 last summer and is rumoured to be close to rejoining his former club. Ince has had a stunning start to the current season and has already found the net on 13 occasions in the 20 times
he has played in the Championship this season.
The player is expected to join for an estimated fee of £6 million and will surely be a brilliant addition to the wings for the club. His age and growth in the recent months are two huge plusses for the Reds, who are in desperate
need of attacking flare.
Bafetimbi Gomis
Age: 27
Current club: Olympique Lyon
The French international has scored an impressive 10 times in the Ligue 1 this season and is a prime target of many top European clubs. The attacker is known for his brilliant finishing and his movement in the box and there are
reports that Liverpool are interested in acquiring the forward in the January transfer window.
Gomis would be available for a fee in the range of £10-15 million and could certainly prove to be a valuable acquisition. His style of play would also suit Liverpool and the linkup with Suarez could be deadly for the opposition.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-c21175
Age: 29
Current club: Schalke 04
To be honest, Huntelaar is not a realistic option for the Merseyside giants. The attacker has been hanging on to sign a new contract with the German outfit and has also been linked to the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Chelsea.
Huntelaar could be bought at a price of as low as £9 million as his current deal with Schalke ends in the summer. However, the player would certainly prefer playing in the UEFA Champions League and that is not which he will achieve
at Anfield in the near future.
