Four runners to battle out in Jackson´s Yorkshire Champion Bread Handicap
Only four runners will be contesting in the Jackson´s Yorkshire Champion Bread Handicap at Beverley in England on Thursday, August 16, 2012. The class-4 event has a cash prize of £4,075 for the winner.
The competition in the 2 mile 35 yard race will be a close one and it will be extremely hard to judge whether which runner holds the edge over others. The bookies believe that it is going to be a good day for Moon Trip, thus they have given him the best
odds for the race. He will enter the event with a starting price of 15 to 8.
The weather has remained dry at Beverley for the past few days, thus the going will be good to firm. This will also work in favour of Moon Trip, who enjoys running in such conditions. He has got good memories from this track and will be looking to make his
team proud at the end of the day.
Cape Cross’ son debuted in May 2011 and did not find things easy at all back then. His first couple of races were quite tough and he struggled to make an impression in them. He finished ninth in his first ever outing and followed that up with an eighth place
finish, which left his team dejected.
However, the young runner made a slight improvement in his next couple of outings, finishing fourth in both of them. This gave him some confidence and he went onto win his maiden race in August that year.
Despite such a strong result, the Mark Johnston’s trainee was unable to finish the 2011 season on a high, as he struggled in the last couple of races as well.
Things proved to be a lot better for the talented runner in 2012, as he performed with a lot more consistency. He took part in his first race at Beverley this year and that proved to be a very good one for him. He managed to win it by five lengths and went
onto deliver a couple of more decent results afterwards.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s owned gelding will be accompanied by veteran jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, and the pair has a solid chance of shining today.
