Four way stops?

Question

i'm confused, i know that uncontrolled four way stops, you yeild right of way to the person who got their first, or if you all got there at the same time you yeild right of way to the person on your right, but how do you know which car is which? if Car B is to the right of Car C and Car c is to the right of car A? which car is which?

i've seen this when there was no clear break on who should go first. someone just needs to start slowely and let it work out.

I have witnessed on three occasions four cars arriving at a four way stop at the same time.  Everyone was waiting for someone to make a move.  Then all four started to move at the same time!  It was so funny.  All we could do is shake our heads and smile.  Then one would move and we proceeded with the normal rotation thru the intersection.

c,b,a I have seen this a few times and only driving for 10 years.  What normally happens is one person will wave the others on (don't ever do that you just became responsible if some one gets into an accident) but that is what happens.

How much of a chance do you figure there is of four cars arriving at a 4 way stop at exactly the same instant? I've been driving for 53 years and have never had it happen.
