My son was born with TGA and had arterial switch at 8 days old. He is 4½ now and has major behavior problems. I try every way in the world to discipline him, but nothing seems to bother him. He's a very sweet boy, the love of my life, but is just "wild". He never back talks me though, just will not listen. He will do it or die! I know I'm very very lucky to have him in my life and he is a miracle, but I feel as if I'm about to go crazy, trying to get him to mind. I would never want anything to happen to him, and I'm afraid that with this behavior now, later on (if he doesn't grow out of this) he will be into bad things later on. Does anyone know if these behavior problems go along with the heart defect? I have heard of a few cases that have had the same problems, but I would like to know if anyone personally has had this problem, and what they do about it. I would greatly appreciate it!

  1. I recently read this great book called The GeynoType Diet.  The premise is that pretty much every condition is controlled by our environment and our diet... obviously our genes play a major role, but you can control how the genes "show up" in your life... I would say look into it - it may help.  I got my copy from the library - see if they have it and take it out :-)
