Question:

Fox problem around my garden killed one of my chickens

a fox keeps on coming in my back garden digging up holes. I have chickens in my back garden and it killed one of them. What should i do.I don't want to go out when its there because i dont know much about them. would a red fox or a gray fox i don't know which one it is attack me.

PLEASE HELP I DONT WANT ANY MORE DEAD CHICKENS

  1. Now he knows they're there he will be constantly trying to kill them. Locking them up at night is no use because foxes feed during the day too. You have to make the compound in which they're kept absolutely fox-proof unless you want to kill it then you have to use poisoned bait. A difficult decision depending on which you like best, the fox or the chickens.


  2. My foxes run whenever I go outside.  But if they don't a rock thrown to hit something nearby and make a loud noise should do the trick. The hole digging mine do is to get gophers and moles (I have both) if you get rid of the problem they will stop digging.  A dog would solve your problem but will also dig to catch the gophers.
