Foyer and Porch?

Question

Ok, I am doing an a kinda architect sort of assignment and I have to make my plans in content to another plan and was wondering what a foyer is and would it be located in the back of the house, or in the front of the house of does it just not matter??? And does the porch necessarly have to be in the front of the house or if it were in the back woudl you call it a patio???

Foyer is inside the front door. Porch can be back or front.

The foyer is the front entry hall. A porch can be front, rear or side. Difference between a porch and a patio is that a porch is usually roofed and a patio, most generally, is not.
