Fozzy Stack reveals Alive Alive Oh will be on a break – Horseracing news
Assistant trainer Fozzy Stack has revealed that Alive Alive Oh might not be seen in action any time soon, after she was withdrawn from the Darley Irish Oaks because of the quick ground conditions.
According to Stack, “I'd imagine that Alive Alive Oh will have a break and maybe return to action in the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on September 14. We'll wait and see but the Blandford Stakes could be the plan before we look further
ahead and consider maybe Arc weekend or possibly Champions day at Ascot.”
There was a solid chance for the young filly to deliver a strong result in the Irish Oaks, but she was not sent into the competition because of the extra quick ground. Her camp had clearly stated back then that they would closely monitor the weather conditions
before finalising anything about their challenger.
Alive Alive Oh lacks experience in the sport, so her team did not want to gamble much on her. She likes the ground to be slightly soft, as her performance under such circumstances has always been good. Her first race was on a heavy ground, where she made
a strong impression by securing the third spot overall. Her fans would have wanted her to finish on top of the table, but there was immense pressure on her back then.
However, the three-year-old filly gained some confidence because of a decent showing in her first ever outing. From then onwards, her opponents found it hard to match her, as she managed to win a couple of back-to-back events.
Since her previous victory in May, Alive Alive Oh has not been seen in action. She has been training hard with her camp, but that is not enough for her, if she needs to prove her worth to everyone. However, she is quite young at the moment and can participate
in more races towards the end of the season, when the conditions will hopefully be in her favour.
It will be extremely important for the talented filly to finish the ongoing season on a positive note, as that will give her the confidence to produce solid results next year.
