Fragrant Rose tipped to win Grade A8 Flat Race in Oxford – Greyhound Racing Preview
Fragrant Rose is tipped to win the 450 metres Flat Race at Oxford in England on Saturday, February 11, 2012. The winning cash prize of the Grade A8 event is £40.
The favourite b***h has produced some decent results in Oxford and that is why the bookmakers have shown faith in her skills. She has been awarded with a starting price of 2 to 1, despite her lacklustre show last time around at the same venue.
Fragrant Rose finished in an unimpressive sixth place in her last outing on Friday, January 27, this year. She went into that event with a starting price of 6 to 1 and was unable to challenge the front runners.
The main reason behind the black b***h’s dismal show was her poor start in the race. She did not have speed and was crowded as well, which saw her run in a distant sixth place. Her trainer A. Kibble will be expecting a much better performance this time around.
The seasoned b***h will be the oldest participant in the race today, as he was born in August 2006. She is the daughter of Droopys Woods out of Fragrant Blossom.
Another greyhound expected to make an impression, Igoyougo, has also been given a decent starting price of 11 to 4 for the race today. He had been out of touch for a couple of races, but found his rhythm in his previous outing in Oxford.
Igoyougo finished his last race at the venue as runner up. He was not the favourite to win, but displayed excellent speed, challenging the winner throughout. He got off to a terrific start and kept on pressing hard, but lost by just a short head distance
in the end.
However, that performance impressed the bookmakers, thus the white and brindle coloured dog was given a good rate for today’s event.
T. Kibble’s trained greyhound is the son of Crash out of Ex Libris and was born in September 2009.
The youngest greyhound taking part in the race, Tennessee Light, is also likely to challenge the front runners today. He has raced four times in Oxford and there has not been a single occasion, where he failed to finish outside the top three.
However, Tennessee Light has not been able to win any race until now. He has a very good chance today, but will need to display his class. N. Colton’s trained dog is the son of Boherduff Light out of Memphis and was born in May 2010.
Manchester Star, another greyhound trained by T. Kibble, has also been awarded with a starting price of 7 to 2. She was victorious in her last outing in Oxford and has a very good chance of repeating the show today.
However, things will not be easy for the brindle b***h, as she will be up against some fierce competitors. She is the daughter of Ronans Delight out of Florida Baby and was born in August 2008.
Royal Apollo, trained by S. Rayner, is a consistent performer and has earned a starting price of 6 to 1 for today’s race. He has the ability to spring up a surprise, but will have to be at his best in order to do so.
The least expected greyhound to make an impression today is Ardmayle Fizz, trained by L. Magnasco. She has got a starting price of 8 to 1.
There are some very good runners for today’s event and a close battle at the top of the order is expected.
