Framingham boys volleyball team defeats Weymouth on Monday in Bay State Conference match
A good game of volleyball is no longer restricted to the professional teams that belong to the universities. An exciting match can be put up by your local school volleyball team as well. An increasing number of high schools provide training and development
opportunities to the young athletes in the form of training programs as well as regular tournaments.
The training programs help the aspiring athletes to work on their skill and harness their potential whereas participation in tournaments help the young athletes to work on their weaknesses and built on their strengths.
Like volleyball played at the professional level, the high schools feature both girls as well as boys teams that display an equal amount of competitive while playing matches.
One such team that performs at a competitive level is the Framingham boys volleyball team. The Flyers had a match against the Weymouth team on Monday. The match was a part of the Bay State Conference that was played at the hometown of the Flyers. Playing
with the added advantage of being in their home ground, the Flyers were able to defeat the visiting Weymouth team by 3-0.
The first two sets of the match were bagged pretty smoothly by the Flyers with almost no competition from Weymouth. The only time that Weymouth was able to significantly challenge the Flyers was in the third set of the game, but the effort came in too late
as the Flyers were able to bag the third set of the game as well.
With their recent win, the Flyers have improved their overall season record to a total of 14 victories so far. They have been able to achieve these victories at an impressively low cost of suffering only one defeat in the process. The league record of the
Flyers is also something to be proud of. The number of times that they have tallied wins equal to be 12 in all. These have been mustered against suffering only one defeat in the BSC.
The attack and defence of the Flyers both worked towards the spectacular win that the Flyers were able to achieve. The Flyers kept on hammering down relentless kills on Weymouth that kept the pressure on them. The Flyers also made it difficult for Weymouth
to score any point by putting up an un-scalable wall of defence. Apart from that, the Flyers were able to put in a well-coordinated team effort.
Despite the fact that it was a team performance, some players stood prominent in the match. These were Tarzan Nascimento and Chi Li. Nascimento, who is a senior member of the Flyer team, was able to register a total number of 15 kills in the entire match.
He was helped by teammate Li tallying a total number of 18 assists.
