Framingham boys volleyball team loses to Lincoln-Sudbury by 3-0 on Thursday
Framingham boys volleyball team could not better Lincoln-Sudbury in the semi final of the MIAA Division 1 Central Tournament. The Flyers ended up losing to L-S in three back-to-back sets.
This was not the outcome that was expected of the clash between the number three ranked Flyers and the number two ranked Warriors as the last time that two teams had met, the result was entirely different.
The Flyers were able to knock out the Warriors after an intense battle of five long and gruelling sets. This time around however, nothing was as intense as their earlier match. This is reflected by the scores by which the Warriors won each set of the match:
 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16.
Coach Emily Viti of the Flyers made the following comments after the match had reached its close about the loss that her team and suffered against the Warriors, “Every single game we were down by five and we would crawl back in, but we just could not start
off well,” said Framingham coach Emily Viti. Obviously it is exhausting to have to crawl back every single time. L-S is way too good to come back on.”
The first set of the game started off with the Warriors taking the lead. They were able to keep the pressure on the Flyer by taking the lead and keeping the advantage to themselves. Once the Flyers let the Warriors get away, they increased their efforts
to gain some dominance at the court. However, the effort came in too late as the Warriors were already soaring high on their momentum and were able to bag the first set at 25-22.
The second set of the game went on the same notes as the first set with the Warriors asserting their dominance and the Flyers trailing behind. Once again, it was only when the set had reached its middle stages that the Flyers showed some sign of life which
again came too late to stop the Warriors from winning it at 25-20.
After the first two sets went out of their hands, the Flyers also lost the third one at 25-16.
The Warriors will now be heading towards the final supporting an overall season record to be proud of. The number of times that they have been able to secure a won total to be 18. These have been bagged at the cost of incurring only one loss so far. The
Warriors will be looking towards keeping the loss to the same number in their next match.
As opposed to the overall season record of the Warriors, the performance statistics of the Flyers fall a notch pale. The wins that the Flyers have been able to take to their credit equal an amount of 17. These victories have been secured at the expense of
incurring three losses in all.
