France, Russia and Slovakia winners at Czech Open
The results of the Junior girl’s and boy’s team and Cadet Events were quite surprising from the singles results. The Russians, French and the Slovakian players outshined at the final days of the tournament. The event started on the 2nd and concluded
on 6th February, 2011 at Hodonin in the Czech Republic.
The singles and doubles events of the International Table Tennis Federation Czech Junior and Cadet Open 2011 were decided earlier, the singles boys was taken by Tamas Takatos from Hungary and the girls singles by Bernadette Szocs of Romania. The doubles
boy’s event was taken by Jakub and Konard from Poland and girls from Szocs and Ciobuna Irina from Romania took the title.
The final battle of the Cadet Boys singles was fought between Cassin Alexandre of France and Mizutani Yoshiki of Japan. Cassin won the finals by 3-2. In the semi finals Cassin beat Hungarian player Szudi Adam by 2-3. The girls Cadet singles saw 15-year-old
Guseva Ekaterina of Russia beat the 14-year-old Trosman Nicole of Israel by 3-1. In the semi finals Guseva beat Mynarova Karoline of the Czech Republic by 3-0.
The Junior boys Consolation event final was played between Cederlof Martin of Sweden and Barabanov of Belarus. Cederlof was victorious by 3-2 in the finals. In the girls event Galic Alex from Slovakia beat Meidlova Iva of the Czech Republic by 2-3.
In the Cadet Boys doubles final duo from Japan, Matsuyama Yuki and Mizutani Yoshiki beat the pair from the Czech Republic Pavlik Tibor and Reitspies David by 3-2. In the girls Cadet doubles Chernova Daria and Guseva Ekaterina from Russia beat Gelman Shelli
and Trosman Nicole of Israel by 3-0.
Russian players remained victorious on the second last day of the Czech Open, as they proved to be the best throughout the event. The top three teams in the team events were Yana Noskova, Nadezda Mozyakina and Anna Rossikhina from Russia. The Romanian team
comprised of Irina Ciobanu, Roxana Istrate, Bernadette Szocs and Roxana Iamandi. The Hungarian team of Dora Madarasz, Mercedes Nagyvaradi and Johanna Hepke. These three teams ended up on the top in their groups.
The winner of the team events was the Russian team who beat the Romanian team by 3-1. In the final, Russian player Yana Noskova beat Dora Madarasz in a best of five games. Also, Anna Rossikhina defeated Mercedes in a very close match.
This event was important as it was the first tournament of this month which will be followed by the ITTF Safir Junior and Hopes Open Premium Junior Circuit Sweden, starting from 23
February, 2011.
