OK,

so here's my question,

I'm from Austria, and my neighbours are France and Switzerland.

Among the Three, Austria, Switzerland, and France, if you could live in one of these three countries, which would it be?

Please touch on these main points at least:

Scenery

and

Culture

I don't know, i think i wanna move to France or Switzerland, but I don't know >_<

  1. This is a easy question I say Switzerland the people are wonderful the country is very beautiful!!!!! Where in France the people stink I don't like people that stink

  2. I like all three, but I think I would pick Austria.

I love the music, the mountains, the baked goods, the emphasis on outdoor activities, coffee houses, breweries, etc. Just like French and Swiss, I think Austrians are reserved at first, but once they warm up to you they become great friends...witty, warm and interesting people.

I think, however for the weather, I would pick the south of France.

  3. I've lived in Switzerland, right next to the Austrian border. While Switzerland is beautiful, has a lot of advantages and while I wouldn't mind moving back if necessary, it would not be my first choice. I did make a few Swiss friends through my husband, but the Swiss are in general very reserved toward foreigners and, in my experience and that of other expats, not interested in making friends with them. I learned the language, embraced the culture, did not join any expat groups because I've seen how you can easily start just hanging out with expats and thereby closing out the natives, but integration is a two-way thing. You can't force people to like or even accept you.

From the few times I visited Austria, I suspect it would be easier to fit in there, but my first choice of the three would be France, not Paris, but rural France. I've visited a few times and have always felt very at home there.

  4. man, that's a tough one. hmm..well if you're into a lot of landscape scenery, hiking, bike riding, snowboarding, or just a place to relax then switzerland will the best option. However, if you're more of the city life type of person who loves wine, the language, harbor villas, and a little bit of landscape scenary (e.g. vineyards), then yea..france will the best option.

personally, since im more of a city person, i would choose france. and oh if you do pick france, take a look at south of france. there a lot of beautiful villas there. :D
