I am going to be heading to France in a few months and I would like to do a little work to extend my stay however unless I can find an employer that can't find people I won't be able to get a work visa.

I will be doing some busking but I would like to know if there is anything else I could do for money without having a work visa.

  1. Stick with busking. You can do remarkably well at that (at least in Paris).

I've got one American friend who has lived in Paris for the last 20 years and supported himself entirely from his earnings as a street singer. Another guy I knew, now deceased, came over with the American Army in World War II and never went home. He supported himself playing washtub bass.

  2. People that have a student visa can work part-time.  Consider that as an option....there are plenty of language schools that accommodate this.  You have to get the visa at your country of origin and have plenty of financial resources.  They love their paperwork at the prefecture.
