France edge Ireland 26-22 in Rugby World Cup warm-up match in Dublin- Rugby NewsFrance grabbed a valuable victory over Ireland in a Rugby World Cup warm-up match played on August 20th in Dublin. France overcame the Irish side by a narrow margin of 26-22 after a close contest.Ireland scored three tries in the match but they could not prevent the French side from battling past them before their home crowd. Morgan Parra displayed a wonderful performance with his boots for France as he scored 13 points for his team.Ireland took an early lead over France with a penalty goal just in the third minute of the match with the help of Jonathan Sexton. It took only five minutes for Ireland to further increase their lead to 8-0 as Cian Healy thumped the French side with a well executed try. He had a some strong opposition in breaking the French defence but he managed it quite nicely.Morgan Parra was ready to avail the opportunity for France as he was offered a penalty shot. He decreased the Irish lead to 3-8 during the 25th minute of the match and put some life in to the struggling French line-up. Trinh-Duc elevated his side with a drop goal just two minutes later in the first-half and they were back in the match.The later part of the first-half belonged to the French side as they collected 16 points in the last 15 minutes of the first-half. Cedric Heymans scored the first try of the match for France and Parra kicked a penalty and conversion goals for his team just before the interval.France continued the excellent work in the second-half and managed to score some quick points right after the resumption of play. The French side extended their lead to 26-8 until the 49th minute of the match.Ireland tried to bounce back in the match with a late surge and scored 14 unanswered points but it was too late for them. Sexton scored a try for his side in the 72nd minute of the match while Ronan O’Gara got the third during the first minute of extra time. France bagged the victory by 26-22 to end their warm-up campaign for RWC 2011The Irish side is left with just one match before Rugby World Cup against England next weekend.
