Question:

France illegal drugs?

I'm traveling abroad to Bordeaux in August, and will need to bring along some prescription meds. I am aware that I should bring written authorization from my doctor and carry it with me, as well as labeled meds with my name, and valid ID.

But I'm curious if anyone knows if the following are illegal:

Amidrine (generic: Midrin)

Vicodin

If you know of any other sites with this information, that would help too :)

  1. Vicodine exists in France and is allowed if you have a valid doctor prescription.

Amidrine as far as I could gauge on French internet is not yet registered in France. It is not illegal, just not registered. You should be able to bring some with you (and with a prescription) but it might be better if you contact the French embassy about that.

  2. You'll be absolutely fine if you are only bringing a quantity that is obviously for your own use. Bring the prescription if that puts your mind at ease but I bet you'll never be asked for it.
