Recently voted the best French player of 2011, Karim Benzema has entered a new dimension in his playing career. The journey has indeed been a rough one for the young striker.
During his time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, the 24-year-old was considered to be a great hope for both club and country. After a stellar season with Les Gones, Benzema signed for Real Madrid. However, his first season with the La Liga giants was far from satisfactory
and he was even considered to be on the verge of being offloaded.
However, thanks to Jose Mourinho’s man-management, Benzema has started realising his real potential much to the pleasure of the national team.
The striker has now become the backbone of Les Bleus and coach Laurent Blanc would certainly be expecting a lot from the striker.
Ahead of the Euro 2012, Benzema has said that the French team is no more a core of young upcoming players. The striker said that most of the players in the national setup are playing for some of the best clubs in Europe and are not more upcoming players.
“It is not difficult. We try in every game. The coach is and always will be in a research phase. He changes teams, tries new things. There are times when it is difficult and other times when it happens,” Benzema said while talking about Laurent Blanc’s skills
as a coach before stating that his side will be ready for the European Championships next year.
Laurent Blanc is yet to name a captain for the side and Benzema has been touted as the next captain of Les Bleus. However, Benzema said that he is not at all worried about the captain’s armband as he thinks that he will be able to be a presence on the field
without it.
Though Benzema would be an automatic starting choice in Euro 2012, the striker is adamant that he will sit in his comfort zone and has said that he needs to make a difference for his side.
