English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing France international Loic Remy in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The youngest is currently under contract at French Ligue 1 side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 where he has rapidly become an undisputed starter under coach Didier Deschamps.
After scoring 16 goals in his first season with Les Phoceens, Loic Remy has yet again made a great start to the new campaign. In 15 Ligue 1 games, the Frenchman has scored seven goals. His performances have not gone unnoticed by clubs outside France and
Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the few clubs that are trying to lure the striker away from the Stade Velodrome.
Reports suggest that Tottenham are going to offer Marseille the services of Russian international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 in exchange for Remy.
However, Remy’s agent Frederic Guerra is certainly not happy with Spurs’ way of approaching the striker who he feels is not an exchange player.
While talking to English radio Talksport, Monsieur Guerra said, “Remy is not a player to be exchanged. It’s like selling a Ferrari to buy a small car. If Tottenham contact me, I will discuss things with them but I will tell them that he (Remy) is most likely
to stay at Marseille. After the season, there is the Euro 2012 which gives you a chance to do even better in the summer (transfer market) and therefore, he might have 10, 15 or 20 clubs following him by then.”
Certainly Remy’s agent is not considering advicing his player to make a move to the London club as he feels that the striker has a chance to go to an even bigger club if he impresses scouts in the Euro 2012 which will be co-hosted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 next
summer.
Loic Remy is also keen on staying at Marseille for the time being and has openly said that he is focused on Marseille and will reap the benefits of his good work later on. Sunderland are also interested in the services of the youngster but they will find
it hard to compete with the likes of Rubin Kazan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 who are also following a player who is certainly getting stronger day by day.
