France sweeps Romania in 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball European Championship
A European qualifier match of the 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball European Championship – Men took place on April 13.
The city of Czech Republic, Zdar nad Sazavou, played host to the match that took place between France as well as Romania.
It did not take long for the match to determine a winner as the French were able to make a clean sweep over their opponents and grab themselves a win. Not only did the French bag the match by securing three sets back to back, they were able to win each frame
by a comfortable margin.
The scoreboard showed the following final set scores: 25-19, 25-18, and 25-20.
The coach of the French team, Jean-Manuel Leprovost, expressed himself by making the following comments, “We won pretty easily and in straight sets, rising up the quality of our play in comparison with the first day. On Friday we expect a tough game with
Spain but our goal remains to win all matches even if we play with the strongest sides out there.”
On the other hand, the head coach of the Romanian team, Valentin Grigorie, shared his views by making the following statements, “We played better than we did in our first match and we wanted to take at least one set but the French guys were good enough to
finish it in straight sets.”
The first set of the match saw the French take the lead due to their strong play. Despite the fact that the Romanians kept close on the chase, they could not over take the French as they stretched their advantage to 14-10.
After that point, the lead remained with the French until the end of the opening set of the game at 25-19.
The second set saw the French speed ahead with a 12-4 lead from which the Romanians never recovered. It only took a short time before the French were able to bag the second set at 25-18. The third set followed the same pattern as the first set of the game
with the Romanians close by but not in a leading position.
