While talking to ligue1.com, the France international expressed his delight at Les Bleus’ positive start to the season.
Praising the opponent team, Benzema stated that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898 played with great determination and they were really solid at the back. Didier Deschamps’ side struggled at times in the game but they managed to nick a win in the end.
“It was a good game against a good team that defended well and also tackled pretty hard. There were some moments when we struggled, but we held on and we won.”
The former Lyon player added that the players played pretty well and they deserve credit for that. “We need to continue like this. Both in attack and in defence, we started very well and we opened the scoring early. We were less good in the second half but we fought hard.”
On his personal form, Karim Benzema stated that he is pleased with his performance in the match. The 24-year-old, who provided the assist for Diaby’s goal, said that assists are as important as goals and he is happy with his form at the moment.
The France international added that every player on the field played brilliantly and France deserved to win.
“Personally, I'm very happy to have set up Abou Diaby. For me, an assist is the same as scoring. I'm starting to come back, but the most important thing is that everyone played well tonight."
