The Rossoneri defender believes that the Milan outfit remains competitive despite the exit of the Swede striker and the Brazilian defender.
Francesco Acerbi is confident that AC Milan has not lost all of its strength with the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 to Paris Saint-Germain, and believes that the team can still challenge for the honours in their upcoming season.
The 23-year-old has recently arrived at San Siro from Chievo Verona, and has taken to the task of motivating his team-mates.
The sale of the two of their best players to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 has caused many to write off the Italian giants from the next year’s race for the Scudetto, but the centre-back is confident that all is not lost for the Milanello.
Acerbi pointed out that there is still time for AC Milan to catch reinforcements from the summer transfer market, and stressed that the team still has a lot of quality in their squad to propel them in the next campaign.
The former Chievo player was confident that enthusiasm will return to the club with the arrival of the players that are away on holidays, and stated his belief that the Rossoneri will go for the Scudetto.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 23-year-old said:
"Two great players have left, but Milan are already doing something in the transfer market and tomorrow our internationals will return from holiday. Anyway, I think that we are a great team and we are aiming to win the championship."
Acerbi went on to reveal that he is sweating hard in preparations for the new season, and stressed that he will give his all to be in the best shape possible before the start of the campaign in August.
"I'm working well; the workload at the moment is really heavy. I have a big frame that takes a while to get going, but it's important to work well during this period in order to be ready for August 26 [the first Sunday of the new season]."
The centre-back made 17 appearances for Chievo in the 2011-12 campaign, and also scored one goal in the process.
